All of our safari packages include a built-in donation to conservation and community initiatives, which means your introduction to locals comes with a genuine thank you, not a plea for donations.
Ways to meet the locals
We aim to offer guests an authentic community experience with every trip. We work with locals to help shape available experiences, moving away from exploitation and toward empowerment.

Meet the herders of the Maasai in Kenya
Cattle are central to the Maasai way of life, serving as a source of food, wealth, and cultural identity. Greet local herders as they return to their village with their cattle. See them go about their daily tasks and learn about their traditions and way of life.
Tour a children’s organization in South Africa
Visit the Swa Vana Children’s Project, a local organization providing assistance to orphans and vulnerable children. On this tour, guests will learn about the education programs, sustainability and employment ventures and healthcare initiatives in progress, chat with team members and meet local children.
Meet the San bushmen of Botswana
Take a walk with local bushmen as they practice the traditions of their tribe, like hunting for scorpions, which they ‘bathe’ live with their mouths to turn docile, and using plants for medicinal purposes.
See recycled snares turn into jewelry in Zambia
Learn how a local workshop repurposes snares that were originally used to entrap wildlife and turns them into striking accessories for men, women and kids.
Learn how to bead jewelry in East Africa
Visit a local beading studio and learn how to bead necklaces and bracelets while you chat with local women as they share the stories of their community. Great for kids.
